2008 Affiliate Qualifying Shows

As an NRHA affiliate, the WSRHA is part of the NRHA Mountain Region. Individuals who qualify by winning points at designated shows throughout the year are then eligible to represent WSRHA at the NRHA Mountain Regional Affiliate Championship Finals held in Denver, CO, October 15-19, 2008 at the NWSS Events Center.

The following five shows will be used by WSRHA as Affiliate Qualifying Events for 2008:

In order to qualify to represent WSRHA at the Affiliate Finals, the rider of the horse must be a member of WSRHA and designate WSRHA as their Affiliate by July 1, 2008. Membership forms are available on our website and at our shows. WSRHA memberships run from January 1 through December 31 of each year.

Rider Qualification per NRHA 2008 Affiliate Championships Rules:
1.  For an affiliate to qualify a rider for a class, that specific class must be offered in at least three (3) circuit shows.  There is no minimum or maximum number of shows that a rider must attend.  
2.  A rider may qualify in only one region and for only one affiliate.
3.  The rider must be a member of their local affiliate and their National Association Affiliate where applicable at the time of competition for points to count toward regional finals qualifications.
4.  The affiliate membership lists will be used to determine a rider's affiliate.  Riders with membership in more than one (1) affiliate must declare to the NRHA office each year by July 1 the affiliate they plan to represent at the regional finals whether or not they have shown in more than one affiliate. A rider's designation will remain as declared until the NRHA office is notified of a change. Designations and changes received between July 1 and December 31 will apply to the following year.
5.  Points are to be calculated on a one horse/one rider format.
6.  Points will be awarded based on the number of horses actually competing in the class, i.e., if fifteen (15) horses compete, first place will be awarded 15 points, 2nd place - 14 points, etc.  Points will be calculated on horses actually competing, excluding the horses entered but scratched.  Zeros and no scores will not be awarded points.
7.  The top ten (10) horse and rider combinations plus ties from each class offered in a circuit qualify for the regional affiliate finals. There will be no alternates, nor will substitutions be allowed.
8.  The NRHA office will post the standings of each affiliate on the NRHA web site.
9.  Those qualifying for the regional finals may only enter the championship classes for which they qualify.
10.  Riders may not change horses for the regional finals.

IMPORTANT: To assure that you will be able to represent the affiliate you intend to, please complete an Affiliate Designation Form and fax or send it to the NRHA office prior to July 1st of each year. This form can be found on the NRHA website at www.nrha.com

A horse may qualify for more than one class with the same or different riders.  For example, an open rider may qualify the horse in the open and a non-pro rider may qualify the horse in the non-pro class. A rider may not show more than three horses per class regardless of the number of horses that rider may have qualified for the affiliate finals.
